The fashionable small town of Aspen in the mountainous US state of Colorado has mainly been known to winter sports enthusiasts. That is going to change: With AdventureOUT there is now also a queer event in July.
For gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals the team of the well-known Aspen Gay Ski Week now also organises a summer event. AdventureOUT, as the event is called, will take place for the first time from 4 to 8 July 2018. Just like in winter the organisers relied on the impressive beauty of the American Rocky Mountains which rise more than 3,000 meters to the sky. Guests can experience the power of nature on rafting tours across fast-flowing mountain rivers. Trips by jeep are less strenuous, but just as fast. Only natural ingredients are used in a Farm-to-table dinner. Parties and outdoor concerts are for entertainment. The event is aimed at adventurers of all ages and especially queer families.
The base of AdventureOUT will be located in the Snowmass Village, a few minutes from Aspen’s charming old town. In the Village guests can make use of around 130 kilometres of hiking and cycling trails in addition to the program of events. Those who have exhausted their energy reserves can replenish them in the more than 50 restaurants. “Snowmass is an idyllic place in summer,” says Rose Abello, director of Snowmass Tourism. “We are pleased to welcome AdventureOUT Snowmass to their debut and to present everything Snowmass has to offer in summer.” www.adventureoutsnowmass.org
