No other holiday region has yet advertised for gays and lesbians as strongly as the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The city presented a four-minute video that not only advertises Rio’s scenic attractions at the annual conference of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) in Fort Lauderdale in May.
Using a lot of sporty guys and kissing men, Rio promotes itself as one of the top destinations for gays in South America.
A new direct service from Germany to Rio could help reach this target. Lufthansa will be flying five times a week non-stop to the Copacabana from October.
