Poland’s president plans to ban adoptions by same-sex couples

Poland in the election campaign: Before the run-off election on 12 July, Poland’s president today announced in a media-effective manner that he wants to ban the adoption of children by homosexual couples in the constitution. The saddest thing is that even his fiercest rival agrees with him on this issue.

A victory for love: Montenegro introduces civil partnerships

The Parliament in Montenegro voted on Wednesday by 42 votes to five in favour of the introduction of registered civil partnerships. This makes the small country the first non-EU country in Eastern Europe to allow gays and lesbians this legal recognition.

The photographer Pamela Porwen started a photography project in which she photographed well-known queer people from Poland as wedding couples. The photos will be exhibited in May. Inspiration for the project was the deteriorating situation of the queer community in Poland and the fact that there is no legal recognition for same-sex couples.

Mr Gay World 2020 fights for the community – and against Corona!

The new Mr Gay World comes from Spain: Due to the corona crisis, the competition had to be postponed this year – the jury promptly selected last year’s runner-up as the winner for 2020. However, the Spanish doctor Francisco José Alvarado (30) scored another victory: He not only fought COVID-19 for his patients, but he himself got infected – and was able to overcome the disease.
