New York
In the Pride month of June, performers and dancers will strip at “Broadway Bares” – for a good cause.
In 1992, Jerry Mitchell, a Broadway dancer and now the winner of a Tony Award, came up with an idea. He wanted to raise money for people suffering from HIV/AIDS by organising a strip show. He and six friends raised a total of $8,000 in the first year of Broadway Bares. The event is now one of the highlights in New York’s fundraising calendar that received over $1.9 million in donations in 2018.

Two shows headlined “Broadway Bares: Take Off” will take place on June 16 at Hammerstein Ballroom near Madison Square Gardens, where the stars and dancers of Broadway will get into their birthday suits.
