Berlin
This is the first time that Germany’s biggest airline, Lufthansa has committed itself on a larger scale to a gay and lesbian event in its home country. The airline, that already had targeted advertising campaigns for gays and lesbians in the US as partner of the German National Tourist Board (Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus), was a sponsor of last year’s Mister Gay contest in Finland or has placed adverts in trendy European magazines, has so far largely held back on the domestic market.
The airline will have its own float on Berlin CSD (Pride parade) on June 25th, sponsoring the closing event at Brandenburg Gate and be listed as official sponsor in the CSD magazine. It will finally offer special fares to the German capital as the event’s official airline, which can be booked directly on Lufthansa’s website.
Lufthansa is also giving away a trip for two to London Pride 2012 on its own CSD (Pride) website.
