Anyone who does not want to compare apples and organges in the search for similarities between Barcelona and Berlin can now refer to the “Axel Hotel“. From January 2018, the German and Catalan capital will each house two branches of the gay hotel chain: “TWO by Axel Berlin” opens in Bundesallee 31a in Wilmersdorf, 1.5 kilometres beeline from the parent house in Schöneberg. The Spanish operators are paying tribute to the tourism boom which brought them occupancy rates of 96 percent in the first seven years after opening in Berlin.
