Kopenhagen
The Danish capital Copenhagen is one of the most cosmopolitan and free metropolises in the world. A diverse cultural life and cosmopolitan atmosphere attract people from everywhere.

Same-sex partnerships can be registered in Denmark since 1989. Copenhagen also has an attractive gay scene, including Europe’s oldest gay bar Centralhjørnet which opened in 1917. Rainbow Square near the Town Hall which commemorates the world’s first registration of same-sex partnerships was inaugurated in 2014.

Amongst several attractions are the designer district of Vesterbro hosting cool clubs and bars in the trendy Slaughterhouse quarter, a large selection of gay and lesbian-friendly accommodations and many festivals and events. Copenhagen Pride which will take place from 15 to 20 August 2017 has become an integral part of the city’s calendar of events. And the famous Danish “Hygge” can still be found here at Nyhavn and the old town.

how to get there
Copenhagen is well connected, domestically and internationally. You can reach Copenhagen from Hamburg directly by train bypassing comfortably congested roads. The train takes about 4 hours and 45 minutes from Hamburg. It is shipped across the Fehmarn Belt on board a ferry, where you can go on deck and enjoy the sea breeze. The Sparpreis Europe fare is available starting at 39 Euros in 2nd class (59Euros in 1st class). If your starting point is Hamburg the cheapest fare starts at 29 Euros.
