Even bigger and even more diverse: from 7 to 11 March 2018, ITB Berlin will be presenting the world’s most extensive range of holiday offers as well as the latest travel trends and offers for gays and lesbians at a travel fair.

This year this fast-growing segment is given a particularly large LGBT Travel Pavilion – never before have there been so many exhibitors. “Thanks also to the ITB Berlin, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Travel has developed  from a niche product into an internationally recognized travel segment in recent years. LGBT Travel is booming in many countries due to the opening up of marriage to same-sex couples. This opens up new markets and travel experiences, such as honeymoon tourism or rainbow family cruises, “says Rika Jean-François of ITB Berlin.

The dynamics of the market are clearly reflected in the interest of new exhibitors. Thailand, New York State, Bilbao Tourism, Costa Rica and Colombia are represented for the first time this year. The Christopher Street Day Berlin also celebrates its premiere with its own stand at the world’s largest travel fair. A number of exhibitors have also announced their return, including Aspen/Snowmass, the Valencian Community, Fort Lauderdale, Enjoy Illinois, Ontario Tourism, Argentina, and various partners from Japan, such as the Gran Via Hotel in Kyoto; Ella Travel, TomOnTour and the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association IGLTA. The official “Presenting Partner” is the Tourism Authority of Thailand – also New York State, Enjoy Illinois with Choose Chicago are cooperation partners of the LGBT segment at the ITB Berlin.

As varied as the exhibitors at Gay and Lesbian Travel, the program is as varied: in addition to numerous events for trade visitors, private visitors will get their money’s worth on March 10th and 11th. The popular LGBT destinations Florida Keys and Key West invite you to a live promotion in the LGBT Pavilion. Another highlight is the performance of the “Querplattler”. The first gay Schuhplattler group from Berlin traditionally performs in original Chiemgau costumes (several times from 14:45 on Saturday and on Sunday from 13:30). Argentina thrills tango fans again with the popular “Queer Tango Show” (Saturday 1:30 pm and Sunday 3:30 pm) and pampers gourmets with culinary tastings, such as wine tastings.
