Zürich, Enjoying the summer at the Lake

– Advertorial –

Zurich – the beautiful city by the lake. Lake Zurich and the Limmat River, leading away from the lake, shape life in the Swiss city. Especially in summer there is a lot going on outside: Chatting with friends, meeting new people, enjoying life after-work or being on holiday. SPARTACUS has selected the spots you have to visit – to make sure you experience the summer in Zurich in a unique way:

River baths at the Limmat

1) River bath “Oberer Letten”

The audience is mixed, but you can find a lot of young goodlooking men here. When the weather is good it gets pretty crowded, so it is worth coming early! There’s a cool, fresh atmosphere. You will find the river bath or “Badi” as the people of Zurich call them, is a ten minute walk away from the main station. It is considered by many as the most beautiful place of the city in summer. The atmosphere is young, casual and very relaxed. The water is clear and the Limmat has a rather low current at this point, so you can swim upstream and downstream as you like. There is a lifeguard, but no non-swimmer area. Admission is free. And the best part: you can find a lot of goodlooking young men there.

2) River bath “Unterer Letten”

The river bath Unterer Letten is more family-friendly and a bit more quiet. For children there is a non-swimmer pool near the meadow. The current is stronger, so swimming in the river is only for safe swimmers. Of course there are pool attendants here as well and admission is free. The “Badi” also captivates with shady places and a well-equipped kiosk.

3) River bath Au-Höngg

The river bath offers changing rooms, toilets and a restaurant. The Au-Höngg is located on the outskirts of Zurich and is less crowded than other river baths in summer. Admission is also free. The current is relatively strong, but a rope you can hold on to was recently stretched over the river. Of course there are lifeguards here as well.

Werdinsel 2, 8049 Zurich, Switzerland

Lido “Tiefenbrunnen”, Lake Zurich

There are many lidos on Lake Zurich, but this is probably the most beautiful. “Tiefenbrunnen” is located in the middle of a park on the right bank of Lake Zurich. The outdoor pool offers diving boards, slides and a restaurant. From this side of the lake you can enjoy a wonderful sunset!
Those who want to save the entrance fee for the beach baths will find numerous meadows around the lake where they can sunbathe for free.

Open Air Cinema, directly at the lake

The Allianz Cinema in Zurich is the largest open-air cinema in Switzerland. It can be found on the Zürichhorn directly on Lake Zürich. It has a 24.90 metre wide and 13.50 metre high screen and offers around 1,700 seats. Between mid-July and mid-August, current films, previews and special movies can be seen here.

Cinchona Bar, 25Hours Hotel

Take a drink and relax! There’s hardly anything better than drinking an ice-cold Aperol Spritz on a warm summer evening. This is how summer tastes! An ideal place for a drink is the beautiful terrace of the Cinchona Bar in the 25Hours Hotel, which captivates with its industrial charm and the great selection of tasty drinks.

Uetliberg

What a beautiful view! The Uetliberg is a mountain in the Swiss plateau. From there you have a wonderful panoramic view of the city and Lake Zurich. The ascent is worth it. You will always find a quiet place to chat, enjoy the sunset and drink a cold beer.
