Thailand is a gay Mecca in Asia. The open attitude towards homosexuality has been attracting gay tourists from all over the world for decades. Besides a trip to Bangkok you should definitely visit one of Phuket’s beaches. We have listed the most gay-attractive ones for you. But beware: nudism is limited to specially advertised resorts.
Patong Beach
Patong Beach is the most famous gay beach of Phuket. There was an exclusive gay section directly in front of the “La Flora” hotel. Sadly, the rainbow flag markings were recently removed. However, the beach still attracts many gay visitors. Behind Patong Beach you will find the third largest gay community in Thailand. There are many bars, shops, saunas and restaurants, some of which are real gay hotspots. The beach is quite crowded during the high season between November and April.
Surin Beach
On Surin Beach you find a beach club which is pretty popular with gays. Two points in favour of the beach are the blue, clear water and the fine, white sand. Surin Beach generally attracts richer tourists and has a very western appeal.
Laem Singh Beach
The hidden beach is also very popular with gays. You can get there by boat – or by an adventurous tour from Surin Beach. The trail starts behind the restaurant “Patcharin Seafood”. The exhausting trip is worth it – you will find Laem Singh Beach to be one of the most beautiful beaches of Phuket.
