Every year on the second Saturday in August, hundreds of thousands of dance fans transform the streets of Zurich into the biggest techno party in the world! The parade is also an absolute must for gays from all over the world. It celebrates love and diversity, visibility and cohesion. Apart from that, it is of course one thing above all else: an exhilarating party.
The first parade in 1992 counted approximately 1000 participants. “Demonstration for love, peace, freedom, generosity and tolerance” was the motto back then.
Over the years, the number of participants grew steadily. In 2018 more than one million visitors danced through the day and into the night.
A party that unites all people
This year’s motto is: “Colours of Unity! The organizers want to draw attention to the fact that a picture can only be colourful if all colours are permitted and can unfold their effect together. This is a clear sign against exclusion, intolerance, homophobia and racism.
Trance, techno, house, drum’n’bass, dubstep: there is something for everyone. This year’s line-up tops everything: Davide Squillace, Animal Trainer, Angie Taylor, Ezikiel, Gianni Callipari and many more artists are waiting for you!
The 30 moving stages called Love Mobiles will start at Utoquai in Zurich’s Seefeld district. From there, the tour takes you around the Zurich lake basin to Hafendamm Enge.
After the parade, there will be eight additional stages along the route where you can party and dance until midnight.
Even after that it’s not over yet: numerous events and parties accompany the parade and ensure that the techno heart never beats louder anywhere during the entire weekend than in Zurich.
