Gay Guide Mongolia

Although sexual interactions between homosexual adults in Mongolia are not forbidden, it is seldom possible to openly live in a different way to the majority of the population. Since 2007 some activists who formed and registered an organisation called "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Centre" (LGBT) in Ulaanbaatar. This Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Centre in Ulaanbaatar is the first non-governmental organisation in Mongolia, which aims to change the social, legal and institutional situation regarding questions concerning discrimination, persecution and violence, which the LGBT community in Mongolia has suffered from for years. After increased attacks on homosexuals by neo-Nazi groups a new law was passed in 2016 that includes hate crimes against homosexuals.
