Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and has a large Polynesian population. It is a clean, modern city with excellent restaurants, hotels and tourist services. Auckland is built around two harbours and a number of extinct volcanic hills with lush greenery and fine beaches. The inner city suburbs of Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Mt. Eden and Parnell have significant gay populations. Most bars and clubs are located in Karangahape Road ("K" Road) Ponsonby Road or Downtown. Ponsonby is well known for its restaurants and wine bars.
