Gay Guide Caribbean - Grenada
Homosexual acts between men are illegal and can be punished with up to 10 years in prison. However, compared to other former British colonies in the Caribbean, Grenada is still considered moderately liberal in dealing with homosexuality. The tourism industry has developed considerably in recent years, but is concentrated mainly around the city of St George's in the south. There is no official gay scene. However, the non-governmental organisation GrenCHAP is working against the spread of HIV and for the rights of sexual minorities and sex workers.
