Berlin
Gay Guide Berlin
Berlin is certainly always worth a visit. But it is also gaining in popularity as a place to live amongst people from all around the world. Berlin is not only one of the least expensive metropolitan cities, but also increasingly turning into Europe's gay capital! The high points of the local event calendar include an Easter meeting for "bears" and their friends, the Folsom Street Festival, the HustlaBall, and of course the many regular sex and fetish parties. Please see the event calendar at the end of this guidebook for details. The Berlin of today has grown from many villages and towns located around the residence of the former Prussian king. All its districts have their own individual characteristics and centres as a consequence. This partly also applies to the gay scene which is mainly distributed across the districts of Schöneberg and Prenzlauer Berg, and two alternative secondary neighbourhoods - left-leaning, uncommercial Kreuzberg, and young, studenty Friedrichshain.
