Gay Guide Brighton & Hove - East Sussex
Sometimes referred to as "London by the sea", Brighton is literally forty five minutes by train from the capital - a train journey that is well worth taking. With an estimated gay population of over 40,000, it seems that the whole city revolves around ensuring that we are welcomed and have a great time. The community is centralised around the city centre and seafront, with a wide selection of bars, cafes and hotels, everything is in walking distance from your door - including the spectacular ocean views, Brighton Pier and the Brighton Pavilion - an Indian-style palace built in 1823. Brighton Pride is the premier gay festival that should not be missed, and is free to attend, with substantial contributions made to UK charities. Most venues are gay/straight mixed.
