Gay Guide Brussel/Bruxelles

Brussel/Bruxelles

It becomes quickly obvious that Brussels has more to offer than just the "Maneken Pis", the famous fountain figures of pissing young men or the "Atomium" when one takes a wonder around this city. Also its reputation of being a grey and drab EC civil servant city rapidly loses its substance as soon as one enters one of the many bars, cafes or discos in the city. In Brussels over 30% of the population are foreigners, making it very multicultural and cosmopolitan. Even during the week many celebrations carry on to the early hours of the morning, when the buses and trams start running at 5am. The gay scene is in the centre of the city at the "Grand Place". Here are also a multitude of gourmet locations near the Rue de Bouchers. For gay men and their friends many so-called "Soirées" are organized. The Gay Pride is in May.
