Gay Guide French Polynesia

Here the French laws regarding homosexuality apply. The age of consent is set at 15 years for all. There are no gay organizations or groups, but at the same time no evident discrimination of homosexuals. The largest of the around 115 islands is Tahiti. The capital city Papéete has around 30.000 inhabitants. The Tahitians are polite and open minded and positive towards foreigners, who wish to discover the beauty of the islands. Most tourists are attracted to the island for the annual "Bastille" festival which start on the 14th of July and continue for at least 3 weeks.
