Gay Guide Caribbean - Saint Kitts & Nevis
The age of consent for heterosexuals is 16 years. Articles 56 and 57 of the 'Offences against the Person Act' expressly prohibit male homosexual acts, while lesbians are exempt from punishment. It is not known that gays have been indicted under these provisions in recent times. In 2005, a cruise ship with 110 mostly gay Americans was initially prevented from mooring on the island of Nevis - the port manager made it clear that the island did not want homosexuality to become part of its culture. The life of gays on the beautiful islands is therefore rather hidden.
