The Réunion Islands are a French "Département d'Outre Mer". Legislation concerning homosexuality is the same as in France. Reunion Island is a small paradise, where tradition and family values still run strong. It´s difficult for the locals (Creoles) to come out, because they are surrounded by their relatives, but they believe that diversity is a positive cultural value.
