According to article 230, homosexuality is illegal in Tunisia and may lead up to 3 years imprisonment. But convictions of homosexuals are nonetheless relatively rare in comparison with other Islamic countries, although in February 2015 a Swedish man was sentenced to two years imprisonment due to "homosexual acts". Some of the truly old hammams in Tunisia are 400-500 years old. No gay Action takes place in a hammam. It can be a meeting place.
