Tel Aviv celebrates its Pride in early June with a zest for life. The parade leads through the city to the beach in the heat of summer, where dancing goes on well into the night.

Hardly any pride is considered to be as hedonistic, as dedicated to life as the one in Israel’s metropolis of Tel Aviv. More than 200,000 guests celebrated during the parade last year, as it moved from the Gan Meir Park through the streets of the city to the Mediterranean in summer heat. Good weather in June is quite a safe bet and so this year the atmosphere at Gordon Beach will boil over: as long as you are fit to do so you can keep dancing on the beach until deep at night. In view of this it is hardly surprising that the first pride in Tel Aviv in the year 1979 was entitled “Love Parade” – the similarities to the Berlin techno parade are pretty obvious. There are numerous events around the party that deal critically with the situation of LGBT in society.
