“A little gay history” – this is the title of a new audio guide that takes visitors through the collection of the British Museum in London. The tour focuses on elements of homosexuality – be it on ancient Egyptian papyri, Roman vases, in David Hockney’s paintings or based on the friendship of Emperor Hadrian and Antinous. The intention of author and curator Richard Parkinson is to show that the history of gays and lesbians is part of human history. “The diversity of sexuality is something that affects us all,” Parkinson says.
