Gaultier – this name has stood for unusual fashion that is hardly wearable in everyday life and has earned the fashion designer the admiration of many pop stars in the past four decades. The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” is more than a retrospective, however, rather a spectacular installation with over 140 of his creations, including costumes for the films by Pedro Almodóvar and stage outfits for Madonna (such as the corset of her 1990 “Blonde Ambition” tour), Kylie Minogue and other stars. Kunsthalle München is showing the installation in Germany for the first time from September 18th, 2015 to February 14th, 2016.
