Today, March 31st, 2020 is Trans Day of Visibility. On this day, transgender and non-binary people and communities all over the world are to be celebrated.
Not only queer, but also heterosexual and C sharp people can show their solidarity with the Trans* community – not just today, but all year round. So we collected some positive examples of celebrities who stood up for Trans* rights last year.
Hozier
At a concert in London in October, the singer appeared with a rainbow and a transgender flag.

Elizabeth Warren
US politician Elizabeth Warren repeatedly described the increasing violence against transgender Women of Colour in the USA as an epidemic – and declared war on it.

Mara Wilson
The bisexual “Matilda” actress wrote on Twitter in December that she would never receive more hate messages than if she stood up for Trans* rights. Previously, she had responded to Joanne K. Rowling’s transphobic tweet and defended the community.
I’ve never gotten more hate on here than when I express support for trans people. But I see no reason to exclude or be hateful to one of the most vulnerable populations. Trans women are women, trans men are men, that does not take away from my rights and being who I am.

Dywane Wade
The former professional basketball player and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, announced this year that their daughter Zaya has identified herself as transgender since she was three years old. Many activists celebrated the couple for their solidarity and their sensitive and exemplary approach to the issue.
Charlize Theron
The South African Hollywood actress also announced last year that her 7-year-old daughter is trans* – and has her full support.
