The island of Tenerife, just next to Gran Canaria, is a gay hotspot as well – it is just more of an insiders’ tip. It also has a lot to offer for gay tourists, especially the beaches. There is something for every taste: bathing in the nude, partying, relaxing in remote places, breathtaking views and making new friends.

Attention: When cruising on Tenerife, you should beware of the local police.

1. Playa de la Tejita

Playa de la Tejita is considered one of the most popular beaches on the island. The beach, which is about one kilometre long, is popular with sun seekers as well as people who are interested in its stunning nature. The view is breathtaking and everyone can find a quiet place to relax. Both tourists and locals can be seen here. Also among gays, it is one of the most popular beaches of Tenerife. People meet at the section with the blue flag – and they also like to swimin the nude here. In the evening, the beach turns into a meeting point for the adventurous.
The beach is near the city of El Médano and near the airport Tenerife South.

2. Playa Troya

Playa Troya can be found in the south of Tenerife. During the day the beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, observing others and getting in contact with others.
Around the beach there are many gay bars and clubs in Playa de las Américas. This is another reason why the beach is a meeting point for the adventurous at night.

3. Playa Martianez

The beach and the nearby Puerto de la Cruz are considered one of the biggest gay hotspots on Tenerife. In the streets of the old town there are many queer bars and gay friendly restaurants.
Playa Martianez has been known as a cruising destination for decades. With its beautiful natural landscape, bushes and extensive dunes it offers enough possibilities for privacy. Some cruising during the day, but especially busy at night.

4. Playa del Pozo

Playa del Pozo is located in the north of Tenerife. It is a very remote and lonely beach with a breathtaking scenery, black sand beach and surrounded by high cliffs. Far away from mass tourism, the beach is ideal for making new friends. There is a kiosk nearby.
You can reach Playa del Pozo if you climb over the rocks behind the beautiful bays of Playa Bollullo. Nearby there is also a large cruising area on the way to Playa Bollullo. The area is known as the “mountain of love”.

5. Playa los Callados

Playa Los Callados is a nudist beach. Here you will find a mixed crowd, many hetero- and homosexual nude bathers. The beach is not so crowded, so you can find a quiet spot to relax. Playa Los Callados is in the south of the island near Los Cristianos.
