The island Tenerife, located beside Gran Canaria, is a gay hotspot as well – it is just more of a secret tip. It offers a lot for gay tourists, of course also beaches. There is something for every taste: nude bathing, partying, relaxing in remote places, breathtaking views and making new acquaintances.
Attention: When cruising in Tenerife you should keep an eye on the local police.
1. Playa de la Tejita
Playa de la Tejita is considered one of the most popular beaches on the island. The beach, which is about one kilometre long, is popular with sun worshippers as well as people who are interested in the stunning nature. The view is breathtaking and everyone can find a quiet place to relax. Tourists and locals alike can be seen here. Also among gays it is one of the most popular beaches of Tenerife. People meet at the section with the blue flag – and they also like to swim naked here. In the evening the beach turns into a meeting point for the adventurous.
The beach is located near the city of El Médano and near the airport Tenerife South.
2. Playa Troya
Playa Troya is located in the south of Tenerife. During the day the beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, watching and getting to know each other.
Around the beach there are many gay bars and clubs in Playa de las Américas. This is another reason why the beach is a meeting point for the adventurous at night.
3. Playa Martianez
The beach and the nearby Puerto de la Cruz are considered one of the biggest gay hotspots on Tenerife. In the streets of the old town there are many queer bars and gay friendly restaurants.
Playa Martianez has been known as a cruising destination for decades. With its beautiful natural landscape, bushes and extensive dunes it offers enough possibilities for privacy. Also during the day, but especially at night.
4. Playa del Pozo
Playa del Pozo is located in the north of Tenerife. It is a very remote and lonely beach with a breathtaking scenery, black sand beach and surrounded by high cliffs. Far away from the mass tourism the beach is very suitable for making new acquaintances. There is a kiosk nearby.
You can reach Playa del Pozo if you climb over the rocks behind the beautiful bays of Playa Bollullo. Nearby there is also a large cruising area on the way to Playa Bollullo. The area is known as the “mountain of love”.
5. Playa los Callados
Playa Los Callados is a nudist beach. Here you will find a mixed audience, many hetero- and homosexual nude bathers. The beach is not so crowded, so you can find a quiet place to relax. Playa Los Callados is located in the south of Tenerife near Los Cristianos.
