Gay Guide Roma - Lazio
Hardly a tourist will fail to fall victim to the fascination of this eternal city with its countless churches, monuments and art treasures. And even if one cannot really draw comparisons to the nightlife in other major cities, gay tourists are still bound to get their money’s worth. Instead of a gay neighbourhood as in Madrid or Paris, the small, highly frequented Gay Street directly next to the Coliseum, besides its bars and an ice cream parlour also boasts a shop catering to the needs of not only gay men, as well as a gay bed & breakfast. In summer the Gay Village in the south of Rome opens its gates. Every evening different parties and concerts take place with several thousand guests. However, also during the rest of the year one can go out every evening, dancing is, however, more popular at the weekend. The different locations are spread out all over the city. Those in the centre are often accessible by foot. A special experience is to explore Rome on a scooter and thereby to remain flexible especially at night. A visitor to Rome has a vast choice of accommodation choices on offer, from gay bed & breakfast guesthouses to gay-friendly, 4-star hotels. From Rome it is only just 30 kilometres to Ostia and the sandy beaches, very popular with gays and further to the south at the Mediterranean Sea.
