Athen

The Greek capital Athens presents itself with the new campaign “Athens Real” as a young, cool and aspiring metropolis. This year the city also attracts by hosting the art exhibition Documenta.

The Greek capital Athens has recently been promoting gay visitors with a new campaign: Under the slogan “Can host Now” – meaning “Vacancies” – musicians, artists, dancers and many other interesting people present their city, reveal where they prefer to spend the day and what should not be missed in any case. The name of the campaign “Athens Real”, “The real Athens” is meant quite literally explains Giannis Papagiannopoulos, who developped the campaign with his agency HomoEvolution in collaboration with the tourism organisation Marketing Greece. “All our ambassadors are part of the gay scene in Athens. Therefore, guests can be sure to learn about really interesting places and events. ”

Documenta in Athens

This year, a visit to Athens is particularly worthwhile for those interested in art and culture. In the context of the art festival Documenta which is at home in Kassel (Germany) contemporary works of art are also presented in Athens until 16 July. The numerous exhibition venues can be found all over the city. Looking for certain events in the extensive program and on the somewhat little user-friendly website is a rather difficult endeavor. If you want to get an overview, you should consider taking part in one of the documenta walks.
