    USA: Black Trans* activist Marsha P. Johnson writes history again

    New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that the “East River State Park” will be called “Marsha P. Johnson State Park” in the future. This is a great posthumous honor for the black trans* activist – never before has a “State Park” been named after a queer person in the US. The park will also serve the purpose of education and visibility with various buildings, additions and art installations.

    Australia: Politician wants to take Trans*Kids away from their parents

    Good news, bad news from Down Under: Queensland became the first state in Australia to ban conversion processes – while Australia’s Senator Pauline Hanson incited against parents of transgender children and announced that they should be taken away from their parents.  Hanson is Senator for Queensland and co-founder and leader of the extreme right-wing One Nation party. Hanson and her party are considered right-wing populists.

    Copenhagen Pride: Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary supports queer community

    Denmark’s crown princess Mary (48) stood up for the community. Her five-minute speech was broadcast as part of the Copenhagen Pride Week. In June she gave a speech at Global Pride, next year she will be the patron of World Pride in Copenhagen – never before has a member of the Danish royal family been so committed to queers.

    The US-American drag artist Chi Chi DeVayne alias Zavion Davenport is dead. He died today as a results of pneumonia as part of a chronic illness. The 34-year-old drag actor became famous in 2016 by participating in the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. He reached 4th place there.
